Well, this was a messy, yet fun project! :)
Even though it seems like Spring is here in Minnesota, it was still cold on the hands! I made this paper mache in the garage. (As you can see by the fine photographs). I tell you what, your hands can get cold in a hurry, in that sloppy mess!
Here is the finished product!
Now, I know it is not centered or perfect. It is the first one I have made in years and I was in a time crunch!!
I don't think the 3 and 4 1/2 year-old are going to mind too much. :)
Here is a little bit on the process...
You can look for recipes for paper mache, but it is basically just flour and water. If you are using it for something long term - you may want to look that up, so it doesn't get moldy on you!
Here you might find a mix that won't mold.
You can start with 1 cup flour and 1 1/2 cups water and go from there. I keep mine pretty runny. It is much easier to deal with.
I took strips of newspaper to make the base of it. Because of time, I took tissue paper, to make the pattern on top of the newspaper.
